In this live, online class you will make your own handwoven cloth and then turn it into a Ritzy Rag tote bag. A special technique will allow you to design a stunning rag weaving!
This class is designed for beginners and includes live Zoom meetings throughout the two-day class. Students will warp their looms in advance, then learn to design the bag, weave the fabric and sew their tote bag.
Projects will be approximately 12” X 18”. See ‘ADDITIONAL INFORMATION’ for more about materials and kits.

Students Will Need
Loom –
Multi – harness or rigid heddle loom at least 18” wide
Weaving equipment
Warping board or peg
Hooks for reed and heddles
Warp and Weft Yarns
Recommended yarns include 8/4 cotton, 5/2 or 3/2 perle cotton, or similar. Depending on the length of the warp, approximately 600 yards for a 3 yard warp or 400 yards for a 2 yard warp.

Kits are available and include fabric, 8/4 cotton (800 yards), interfacing and webbing. You can pick from a variety of fabrics, warp colors and handles. Contact the instructor to choose your fabric and colors.
